Hello friends, on behalf of American Legion Jeff Davis Post 18 we would like to share some upcoming career opportunities for Veterans and their Spouses being made available by AMVETS and Lowe’s in the following trades, HVAC, Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing and Appliance repair. If you know of a Veteran or a Spouse of a Veteran that is looking for a new career path please share the info below.
On February 22, 2021 AMVETs and Lowe’s will launch the Lowe’s + Gen T Scholarship for Veterans

AMVETS would like to introduce a partnership with Lowe’s that brings together two pillars in American culture: our military and the skilled trades industry.
Here are three key opportunities where this partnership will support veterans and their spouses.
Generation T Scholarships: Scholarships up to $5,000 for those who are interested in entering the skilled trades industry:
Must be a veteran or the spouse of a veteran.
Must be interested in training in one of the following trades: HVAC, Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing and Appliance repair.
Spring Application Cycle: February 22 – April 23, 2021
Fall Application Cycle: July 19 – September 24, 2021
Veteranpreneur Business Grant: Grants for $25,000 to four aspiring entrepreneurs:
Must be a veteran or the spouse of a veteran.
Must have worked 1-2 years in their trade.
Must submit company logo, show social presence, and complete online entry form.
Application Cycle: 22 February – 24 September 2021
