A couple of weeks ago the Upper Queen Anne’s County Youth Association reached out to Jeff Davis Post 18 for help. Queen Anne’s County was no longer allowing the association’s football teams to use the county’s fields, because of virus concerns. The teams were in immediate need of practice fields. The association’s President Dale Walls requested the use of Jeff Davis Post 18’s back lawn for a practice field.
Without reservation, with the direction of Commander Greg Manning, Jeff Davis Post 18 immediately granted permission to the youth association. The news gets better. After just two weeks, Queen Anne’s County will now allow the teams to use county fields.
Part of the American Legion’s mission is community and youth outreach and service. In this particular case, mission accomplished.
